The government is tackling the militants, and Swat isn’t that big anyway.

Yousaf Gillani's rambling answer on being asked why Pakistan perceived India as its threat, when Americans think the big threat is from within, in places like Swat.

Shhhh! did you hear that Mr Prime Minister?

Exactly!

That is the sound of "Who gives a ****" when they enjoy their trip to Europe while little old inconsequential Swat is blasted away by both the Army and the Taliban.

"The girls' schools will reopen once the Army has reestablished control of the area.”

Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas, a spokesman for the Pakistani Army,

Excuse me Major, but when exactly will that be? You have been in the area for over 2 years.

“As the terrain is new to the army without local support, the law-enforcement agencies (LEAs) couldn’t restore peace there,”

Senator Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli

Silly me, and here I was thinking all along that if I lived in a place for a couple of months I would get to know the terrain and the people

“The military has executed a "strategy shift" and now controls Swat's main town of Mingora "and some important pockets."

Rehman Malik, (Gilani's adviser on internal Pakistani security issues)

Well I guess they had us all fooled then.

The Taliban will NOT be allowed to set up parallel courts or threaten people with death if they do not appear before them.

Asif Ali Zardi

Mr President, are you sure? I believe no one told Shahi Doran or Muslim Khan that yet.

"The army has both the will and resolve to establish the writ of the government" in the Swat Valley,

Gen Kayani

So are they just not that into it or is the situation in Swat exactly as the Pakistan Govt wants it to be General?
