Long, long ago, there lived a farmer, named Pir Gul in a certain village in Swat.
One day, while he was ploughing his field, an ugly demon appeared before him. The demon's face was black, a long fiery tongue protruded from his mouth, he had three horns on his head, and he had a dreadfully long snake like tail.
When Pir Gul saw this ugly creature, he was really scared. The demon said to him, "I am your master, my name is Shambu and I am a master of the black arts.”
I provide your people with food. I make your crops grow by my great magic. You must accept my power. you must accept me as your master."
Pir Gul paused for a moment and then replied, “Your appearance is so dreadful that I would do anything just to have you out of my sight. Looking at you makes my knees weak and I shake and tremble out of fear. But you ask me to worship you, this is impossible .I can never worship you, for I only worship ALLAH and bow before him...so do what you like with me."
As soon as Pir Gul uttered these words, the demon with a soul shattering shriek turned into smoke and was blown away by the wind.
Pir Gul the farmer stood there awe struck and amazed. He thanked ALLAH, because he realized that it was the power of faith that had saved him.
