One day a little bird was furrowing in the dairan, when she found a natkai.
She happily picked it up in her beak and flew to a wall to joyously announce her good fortune. She sang as loudly as she could
Toongrey Ta Ma Toongre Ta
Ma zanla pa deran lata shata,
Ma zanla natkai oomantala
This wall happened to be right in front of the king’s quarters. On hearing the bird sing, he ordered his soldiers to take away the nathkai from the bird.
The poor bird was devastated to have its treasure taken away and helplessly watched it handed over to the king. The king laughed when he saw the bird get so sad.
Seeing the king laugh angered the bird so it started to shrilly sing
Ah, ah, bacha zama pa natkai mast sho. Ah ah.
She would sing all day and all night and it embarrassed the king so much he ordered that the natkai be given back to the bird.
This victory went to the birds head and it proudly sang out
Ah, ah, bacha zamana wayeredo, natkai yi rakra, ah, ah, bacha zamana wayeredo.
These taunts angered the king, so he shouted for the bird to be caught and brought before him. Defiantly the bird faced the king and would not stop its taunting. The king swallowed her whole.
The bird made such a din in his stomach that he took a laxative to get rid of her, and told his son that as soon as he passed her out he was to chop of its head. The bird, who heard all this, flew off as soon as it could get out and the son in his haste to kill the bird sliced off a piece of his fathers behind instead.
The king was now not only angry, but in a whole bunch of pain too. The bird emboldened by its escape sat back on the wall this time to taunt the son.
Ah, ah, zama di sa ookro,
Khpal plar li ******* pa thoora spin kroo
Ah, ah, zama di sa ookro
The king once again ordered the bird caught, and hung. As the bird was being taken to the scaffolds it sang out piteously
Toongrey Ta Ma Toongre Ta
Ma bacha la byi
Ma ba pa solay ki
Zama pa jala ki wara wara bachi jari
The birds cries and the ridiculousness of the situation made the public angry and it resulted in a revolt against the king.
Thus the mighty king was beaten by a silly little harmless bird.
